SIRKS | Dublin’s Oldest Charity | Since 1790
Over 230 years’ experience helping Dublin residents keep a roof over their heads and overcome temporary setbacks.
Anyone can fall on hard times and many individuals and families in Dublin are struggling. Budgets are tight and unexpected events such as serious illness and inability to work can throw an individual or an entire family off balance. SIRKS tries to bridge the gap when the unforeseen happens or when already complex situations reach a tipping point.
Mission Statement:
SIRKS (The Sick & Indigent Roomkeepers Society), founded in 1790, is Dublin’s oldest surviving charity. Our remit extends across Dublin city and county. We have always helped people of any religion or none.
Our core mission is to help people experiencing temporary hardship due to illness, unemployment or other unforeseen circumstances and who need assistance to get their lives back on track.
Over the centuries needs have changed but a helping hand is valued as much as ever in twenty-first century Dublin. We are here to offer support.
